This gathering welcomes participants into a somatic and contemplative environment, creating space to connect more deeply with both their own inner waters and the sea surrounding them.
Throughout the session, participants will be guided through practices of stillness, deep listening, and gentle, purposeful movement. The experience is inspired by the energies and archetypes of the sea, particularly honouring Yemaya—the Orisha of the ocean and mother of all waters. These practices offer an invitation to deactivate, soften, and recalibrate one's state of being. We will gather shortly before high tide—a time regarded in many wisdom traditions and cultures for its spiritual significance. High tide is a moment when the sea reaches its peak, symbolising fullness, presence, and the amplification of emotion, intuition, and connectivity. This threshold, where energies rise, blend, and release, provides a liminal space for transformation.
The session is an opportunity to tune in—to listen, to sense, and to flow with the rhythm of the tides, within and without.

About Hawah
Hawah Bunduka is a transdisciplinary creator and liberatory practitioner whose work interweaves somatic practice, dance, contemplative traditions, and cultural research to support social justice, healing, and liberation—especially for communities marginalised by ´race´, gender and trauma. She has worked internationally since 2000, drawing from over two decades of experience in movement-based and mindfulness practices. Her approach is rooted in cultural somatics—exploring the body as a site of power, memory, and transformation. A lifelong dancer and trained mindfulness and meditation practitioner, Hawah brings a deeply embodied and reflective presence to her work.
Born and raised in London and of Sierra Leonean descent, her practice is grounded in decolonial research on Afro diasporic carnival arts within the contemporary British context. She integrates dance, somatic inquiry, living arts, breathwork, gender justice, healing justice and community development into a cohesive, holistic methodology. Her work invites a return to embodied awareness as a pathway to collective healing and systemic transformation.
Weaving Waters: Roshni Kavate, Violeta Ortega Navarrete, Gian Padilla Suarez, and Jahel Guerra Roa
October 10th - November 7th, opening reception on Friday, October 10th from 19h
For Weaving Waters, they have chosen to dissolve the boundaries of individual practice, creating a collaborative textile altar installation that functions as living architecture—a spatial practice designed for reconnection with the bodies of water that flow within and around us.
