Join us for an inspiring kickoff event featuring Kim Folsom, CEO and Founder of Founders First Capital Partners, a former Chairwoman and member of the City University Board 22-24. This dynamic evening is designed to energize, empower, and connect aspiring and emerging leaders—especially women and allies committed to building meaningful careers and businesses.

Kim will share insights from her entrepreneurial journey, including leadership and career growth, access to capital, and what it takes to build and scale impact-driven businesses. The conversation may also explore lessons learned from creating opportunity for others and navigating systems not originally designed for diverse founders.

The session will include dedicated time for Q&A and interactive discussion, giving students and attendees the opportunity to engage directly, ask candid questions, and gain practical, real-world insights they can apply immediately.

ABOUT KIM:

Kim Folsom is a founder, CEO, and unapologetic builder of opportunity. As the Founder and CEO of Founders First Capital Partners, Kim has leveraged her 25+ years experience as an entrepreneur to build a platform to democratize access to capital for under-invested small businesses, and has just launched our 4th fund to she help women, immigrants, and founders of color turn real businesses into scalable, revenue-producing companies.

Kim's story is rooted in lived experience and global perspective. She knows what it means to navigate systems not built for you, and how to win anyway! Through capital, coaching, and community, she has helped thousands of underrepresented entrepreneurs grow revenue, create jobs, and build generational impact.

Her message to young entrepreneurs everywhere is simple and fierce: you belong here, your business is real, and you don’t have to ask permission to build something powerful.
