Art of Order Screenings: Films from Get Reel & Kenya Creates on sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice (SRHR/J)
Join Docubox and ALN Academy for an evening of storytelling, reflection, and conversation under Art of Order—a Pan-African cultural series exploring justice, governance, and the rule of law through film and art.
This second edition features two Docubox-supported film projects—Kenya Creates and Get Reel—both exploring how film can spark deeper reflection on sexual and reproductive health, rights, autonomy and justice, while centering personal stories and lived experiences from across East Africa.
Kenya Creates brings together six young Kenyan storytellers—a poet, a comedian, a journalist, and filmmakers—whose work explore identity, self-worth, and sexuality with a raw honesty that bridges generations and invites new dialogue between youth, parents, and communities.
Get Reel is a powerful collection of eight short films from across East Africa, tackling themes of sexual and reproductive health, rights, and justice. From unintended pregnancy and stigma to cultural silence and pleasure, these films open space for empathy, reflection, and much-needed conversation.
The evening will close with an intimate panel discussion featuring filmmakers, legal thinkers, and community voices—unpacking how storytelling shapes how we see justice, governance, and ourselves.
