About Event

What is it?
Source Code is a new meetup and networking event for anyone interested in the intersection of journalism and technology. If you’ve been to Hacks/Hackers LDN before, you’ll recognise the vibe: open, practical, and focused on sharing what actually works (and what doesn’t) in news and tech.

Whether you’re coding tools for newsrooms, experimenting with AI, launching media startups, or simply passionate about storytelling in the digital age, Source Code is your community. Expect talks, hands-on demos, collaborative problem-solving, and plenty of opportunities to swap ideas with peers who get it.

On the agenda

  • Harriet Meyer, founder of AI for Media, has spent two decades in national newspapers, magazines and digital publishing. She now trains journalists and content teams to build practical, responsible AI workflows.

  • Steven Wilson-Beales is an SEO consultant specialising in news and content strategy, and co-chair of the Journalism Advisory Board for the Association of Publishers. He’ll be unpacking what SEO looks like in the age of AI-generated answers and zero-click search, and what publishers should be doing about it.

  • More speakers to be announced (do you have something to share or someone you'd like to hear from? Click on 'Contact the host').

Who should come?

Journalists, editors, developers, product managers, SEO and audience specialists, and anyone building at the intersection of media and tech.

Who are we?
We’re volunteer-run and supported by the original Hacks/Hackers LDN team. If you want to help out or want to suggest speakers, just let us know :)
