The Yale Club of Hong Kong AGM & Thanksgiving Dinner 2025
Registration is now open for the Yale Club of Hong Kong (YCHK) Annual General Meeting and Thanksgiving Dinner, a cherished tradition uniting our vibrant community of Yale alumni in Hong Kong! This event is partially sponsored by Yale SOM.
We are thrilled to announce Joseph Tsai '86, '90 JD as our distinguished guest speaker. Tsai is co-founder and Chairman of Alibaba Group, a global leader in e-commerce and technology. He is also the Governor of the Brooklyn Nets (NBA) and New York Liberty (WNBA), and is Chairman of the teams’ home arena, Barclays Center. He owns the San Diego Seals, a professional indoor lacrosse team in the National Lacrosse League and has investments in the Premier Lacrosse League and Los Angeles FC of Major League Soccer. Tsai was a member of the varsity lacrosse team at Yale and has been a consistent supporter of the Yale men’s and women’s lacrosse programs. In 2017, Tsai received the George H.W. Bush ‘48 Lifetime of Leadership Award from Yale University.
Through the Joe and Clara Tsai Foundation, Tsai and his wife Clara Wu Tsai are active philanthropists supporting initiatives in education, research, criminal justice reform, the arts and, most recently, humanitarian relief during the COVID-19 pandemic. Prior to founding Alibaba Group, Tsai was a private equity investor with Investor AB of Sweden’s Wallenberg family. He practiced tax law as an associate with Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York from 1990 to 1993.
Mr. Tsai will share insights on leadership, innovation, and the intersection of business and sports. His remarkable journey from Yale to shaping global industries promises an inspiring and thought-provoking talk.

For this special event, we are pleased to provide a limited number of subsidized tickets (at half the cost) for fresh grads (class of 2025) and alumni who are working in the not-for-profit sector.
