Lack of Words Writing Club #5
POSTPONED TO FEBRUARY 26
Welcome to the Lack of Words Writing Club! Join us in Amsterdam for a fun and creative writing experience. Whether you're new to writing or just looking to meet fellow writers, this event is perfect for you. This event is open to all levels. Each month, participants write a short piece in response to a shared prompt.
Prompt: Diamonds
They represent love, yet are rooted in violence and bloodshed.
Is the value we attach to diamonds because they are beautiful? Or because they are expensive? Do they symbolize love because of their rarity, or because of the suffering tied to their creation?
And if diamonds can now be made without that violence, do lab-grown diamonds carry the same meaning, emotion, and prestige?
Write about whatever comes to mind when thinking about the complexities of diamonds. This can be an essay, story (true or fictional), poem, or film script. Let the prompt guide you loosely or tightly, however fits your vision.
