Ultra Process A/V 3: The Printer Jam & Friends
Ultra Process returns with a spotlight on The Printer Jam's longer musico-sculptural compositions with friends: A/V artist bitvert, livecoded pipe organ extravaganzo Charles Hutchins, and an old school video moshing and noise act P. Scratchy Perry.
The Printer Jam
3D printer-driven industrial techno
Cassiel (Nick) and BITPRINT (Evan) are back with a longer set that alternates between the sound of unsupervised 3D printing echoing through a system of loops, filters, and distortions, and livecoded performance with the printer and Cassiel's bespoke light-up-controller-driven DAW setup. Expect stretches of noisy ambient sound paired with whirling, bassy, melodic techno, literally industrial music.

Charles Hutchins
livecoded pipe organ
In the early 20th century, thanks to a campaign by middle class homeowners, street busking with organs was made illegal in England. Decades later, another law was passed to prevent outdoor raves, criminalising music with a succession of repetitive beats. Be gay, do crimes.
bio
Charles Céleste Hutchins has a creative interest in misatkes and making music in a difficult way, for example entering code by playing tuba or live coding one handed. He has gigged at venues and festivals around North America and Europe and his music has been played on European and American radio.
