The Wildfire Chain: Carbon Removal to Accelerate Mitigation and Restoration
Most conversations around wildfire focus entirely on the flames and the immediate smoke. However, wildfire is a continuous chain: dense fuel buildup before the burn, and millions of acres of dead, fire-killed trees left behind for years, acting as fuel for the next catastrophic fire. With the historical decline of local timber mills and rural infrastructure, North America faces growing fire threats with nowhere for post-fire biomass to go.
This curated event convenes corporate carbon buyers, climate financiers, land managers, regulators, and developers to address the full wildfire and restoration cycle. Together, we will examine how durable carbon removal pathways can transform post-wildfire waste into durable carbon assets while revitalizing rural forest economies.
