In 2014, Japan rebuilt its approval system for new therapies.
More than ten years after, a biotech there can get to patients roughly 10x faster and cheaper than in the US, and almost nobody in the West uses the pathway except Big Pharma, because they're the only ones with regulatory teams sitting in Tokyo.
We started Mirai Tech City to fix that: a bridge into the Japanese market for founders, so a small team can move a therapy toward patients without a Fortune 500 budget.
