FutureScript: AI Show & Tell for Cinemas | Episode 2
FutureScript: AI Show & Tell for Cinemas
FutureScript is ICTA’s education series where cinema writes its next chapter — with technology, creativity, and strategy in the same frame.
Following our first FutureScript session exploring the fundamentals of AI, this next chapter moves from understanding to experimentation.
Because the real question facing cinema professionals is no longer “What is AI?”
It’s:
“What can we actually do with it?”
In this interactive session, ICTA members will step inside a live Show & Tell lab, where simple AI tools become practical instruments for solving real industry challenges.
Across 90 minutes, co-hosts Keerthana Mahadevan (Segmentide / The AI Collective) and Norma Garcia (NRJ Media Group / Television Academy) will guide participants through a collaborative working session designed to turn curiosity into capability.
Rather than lectures or theory, the focus is on seeing and trying AI in action.
Together, we’ll explore how everyday tools, many available in a browser; can support cinema teams in areas like research, marketing, operations, and decision-making.
And more importantly, how these tools can be used without replacing the human creativity and expertise that define our industry.
What We’ll Explore
From AI Awareness to AI Application
If the first session asked “What is AI?”
this one asks:
“How do we actually use it?”
Participants will see demonstrations of simple AI workflows and learn how these tools can enhance daily work across cinema organizations.
AI Tools You Can Use Today
We’ll explore practical tools such as:
• ChatGPT
• Perplexity
• Claude
• AI research assistants
• content and presentation generators
No coding required.
Just curiosity and a willingness to experiment.
Show & Tell: Real Experiments from ICTA Members
Participants will demonstrate short, practical use cases showing how they’ve begun using AI in their work.
From drafting marketing copy to researching industry trends, these mini demos highlight how small experiments can unlock meaningful efficiencies.
The FutureScript Lab
Following the demos, attendees will join small breakout groups to explore their own ideas and questions.
Participants can choose a room based on experience level:
Beginner
For those just starting their AI journey.Intermediate
For members already experimenting with tools and prompts.Advanced
For those thinking about workflows, automation, and strategic adoption.
Together, groups will discuss real industry challenges and explore where AI might support their teams.
From Curiosity to Capability
The goal of this session is simple:
To help ICTA members move from watching the AI conversation unfold to actively participating in it.
Because the future of cinema will not be shaped by technology alone.
It will be shaped by the people who learn to use it thoughtfully.
You’ll Leave With
• Practical AI tools you can open and use immediately
• Examples of how peers in the industry are experimenting
• Prompt ideas and workflows to test with your teams
• New conversations with ICTA members exploring the same questions
