About Event

Learn how NSF I-CORPS helps transform your research into real-world impact

Launched in 2011, the National Science Foundation’s Innovation Corps (I-Corps™) program empowers researchers to translate their scientific discoveries into real-world impact. Rooted in experiential learning, I-Corps equips scientists, engineers, and innovators with the customer-discovery tools needed to quickly evaluate the market potential of their technologies. By stepping outside the laboratory and engaging directly with potential users, teams gain critical insight that accelerates the path from breakthrough research to meaningful solutions.

The program is distinguished not only by its rigorous, hands-on curriculum, but by the community it builds—connecting academia, industry, and entrepreneurship ecosystems nationwide.

I-Corps advances society by:

  • Increasing U.S. economic competitiveness through the creation of new ventures, high-growth technologies, and skilled innovators.

  • Enhancing academic–industry partnerships that foster collaboration, mentorship, and real-world application of research.

  • Accelerating the commercialization of cutting-edge technologies, bringing groundbreaking ideas to the marketplace faster and more effectively.

If you’re interested in how I-Corps can support your work, attend our panel to learn from experts who have participated in the program and from those who help lead it.

For parking, we recommend the Woodward Avenue Garage, which offers student, faculty, and paid visitor spaces via the ParkMobile app. From Woodward Garage, the Chemical Sciences Laboratory is approximately a 3–5 minute walk. If Woodward Garage is full, the Spirit Way Garage is a good alternative and is approximately an 8–10 minute walk to the venue. Parking availability around 2:00 p.m. is typically busy, so we encourage attendees to allow a few extra minutes to park and walk. We recommend downloading the ParkMobile app in advance to easily locate and pay for available parking.
