W Parlour: How Our Brains Sabotage Long-Term Decisions
Why is long-term thinking so hard, even when we know what is good for us?
Our brains evolved to prioritise immediate needs, which makes short-term decisions feel natural and long-term planning more challenging. In this second edition of W Parlour, we explore how neuroscience helps explain these patterns, and how understanding the brain can support better decision-making over time.
This session offers an accessible introduction to how our minds work, with practical insights on attention, motivation, and delayed rewards that are relevant to both professional and everyday life.
Our special speaker is Coral Puig Garrigó, Teaching Consultant in Behaviour and Innovation. She works at the intersection of neuroscience, consumer psychology, anthropology, and marketing innovation, translating behavioural science into clear, real-world applications.
