Geothermal Energy Potential in Oregon

Join the PNW Geothermal Rising Group and the Bend Climate Collective during PNW Climate Week for an engaging panel discussions featuring geothermal energy experts, natural resource experts, government and public stakeholders and current geothermal project operators and developers to discuss how geothermal energy can help Oregon meet its climate goals and energy demand with clean, always-on, cost-competitive, reliable power.

We have an excellent set of panelists. Be prepared for a robust discussion on the future of geothermal in Oregon!

Topics We’ll Explore

  • What is geothermal energy, how is produced and how can it meet Oregon’s climate and energy future?

  • Where is accessible geothermal heat in Oregon for both power and heating/cooling?

  • Where are some natural conventional geothermal resources in Oregon and what is the development or expansion potential?

  • What are emerging technologies such as Engineered Geothermal Systems and Advanced Geothermal Systems and how will they be proven in Oregon?

  • What are the key non-technical challenges and opportunities at the intersection of energy, water, infrastructure, economic development, and climate goals?
