The Next Generation with Lord Kempsell
Join us for our next Next Generation drinks on 1st September!
This month, we are delighted to welcome Lord Kempsell, highly accomplished journalist and political strategist. Ross is one of Britain’s most distinguished political strategists and communication experts, having served as a senior advisor to Boris Johnson, Political Director for Conservative Campaign Headquarters and as a journalist at Guido Fawkes.
Appointed in 2022 as one of the youngest members of the House of Lords, Ross went on to found his own consultancy, Hyannis Strategy, drawing on his deep political experience to advise prominent organizations like Policy Exchange and GB News, where he is also a frequent contributor.
Ross specialises in political strategy, public relations, and foreign affairs. He brings a sharp, highly strategic, and experienced perspective to contemporary geopolitics, defense, and Britain’s changing place in the world.
Lord Kempsell will be discussing Chagos Unchanged. He’ll explore the history, future, and strategic purpose of the Chagos Islands while unpacking the debate surrounding recent negotiations with Mauritius. His talk will also examine the new Prime Minister's potential course of action for this inherited strategic issue.
Lord Kempsell will make the case that the Chagos Islands should remain part of the United Kingdom, explaining the errors of paying Mauritius to take control of them.
It’s an unmissable evening for anyone interested in international law and Britain’s position on the global stage.

A bit more about these meetings: At TNGs, we throw our doors open to Westminster’s finest to enjoy a political discussion over a few glasses of (free) wine. Open to parliamentary staffers, journos, SpAds, consultants, students, and even the odd civil servant, TNGs are a place to network, chat, and relax. Whatever your politics, we just like interesting ideas and we hope you do too. It’s for under-35s, it’s informal, and we normally end up at the Marquis of Granby.
Please note this event is exclusively for under-35s. If we reach capacity, we will add you to our waiting list.
