Save the date -- TCM x Tech talks: LA meetup
Save the Date! Thursday, 12 Nov on the Westside (Venice area)
Hi friends! 👋
I’m hosting a casual TCM x Tech Talk in LA with my friend Vanessa, and we’d love to see you there!
For those who don’t know, I’m studying to become a doctor of Chinese medicine, following in the footsteps of my great-grandfather, my grandmother, my cousin, and now me. 🌿 For those of you who know Vanessa, it'll be no surprise that she's been one of the people always cheering me on and has encouraged me to start sharing what I’m learning. This event came out of us brainstorming together.
What is Chinese medicine?
Over 2,000 years of observing the body: how you sleep, how you eat, how you feel, and how it all connects. It’s a way of listening to what your body is telling you and figuring out what to do about it. Think warm water over cold, steamed pears for autumn dryness, and reading your tongue, pulse, and sleep patterns as daily clues.
What does this have to do with tech?
Founders, investors, engineers: so much of success comes down to pattern recognition. Chinese medicine works in a surprisingly similar way. Instead of just labeling symptoms, we look for the root cause by watching how patterns show up over time.
Have questions?
Bring them! I love talking about what I’m learning, and hearing what you’re curious about helps me a lot. Every question helps me learn how to explain this better. I think it’s maybe a lesser-known topic, but you’ll tell me.
Who is this for?
Vanessa and I are bringing our two communities together, TCM and tech, for a well-rounded conversation. It’s for both the TCM experienced and the curious. It’s not just for tech people either, and there are no requirements beyond showing up and enjoying the good vibes. ✨
