Achievements and Future Prospects of International Cooperation on Climate Change Adaptation in the Asia-Pacific Region
The Ministry of the Environment of Japan has supported climate change adaptation efforts in countries across the Asia-Pacific region and beyond through international frameworks such as the Asia-Pacific Climate Change Adaptation Information Platform (AP-PLAT), the Asia-Pacific Network for Global Change Research (APN), and the Asia Pacific Adaptation Network (APAN), as well as through bilateral cooperation. These efforts have promoted the sharing of scientific knowledge, human resource development, capacity building, and the implementation of adaptation actions.
This seminar will showcase the achievements and outcomes of Japan’s international cooperation in the field of climate change adaptation and share the knowledge and experience accumulated through collaboration with a wide range of partners. It will also present specific examples of cooperation and emerging initiatives, while highlighting how the lessons learned and expertise gained through international cooperation can contribute to global discussions and the development of frameworks and rules related to climate change adaptation.
