Balancing Authority and Empowerment To Drive Trust and Results
Join Trista Taylor and Carson Kelly for a candid conversation on what 11 years at Google taught Trista about leading through chaos—why too much consensus can slow things down, too much authority can shut teams down, and how the right balance builds trust and drives results. We’ll explore the common pitfalls leaders face in using authority and empowerment and tips for creating more effective, high-performing teams.

The Compassion 2.0 Learning Journey & Mastermind for Chief Flourishing Officers is a curated, cohort-based program designed to help leaders operationalize care as a strategic advantage. Launching with its first Pod on September 8, followed by additional Pods on October 13 and November 10, the journey blends faculty-led sessions, peer-to-peer masterminds, and real-world case studies. Together, we explore how to activate the parasympathetic nervous system in organizational cultures, measure the ROI of Care, and design practices that strengthen trust, resilience, and performance. With limited spots available, this experience is both a think tank and a practice field—where executives and culture shapers gain tools, insights, and a community committed to building flourishing organizations.
