About Event

As spatial biology and single-cell multi-omics advance, the ability to physically interact with individual living cells - without destroying them - remains a critical frontier. This Lunch & Learn session introduces the FluidFM® OMNIUM platform by Cytosurge. Powered by proprietary FluidFM technology, OMNIUM bridges the gap between static observation and dynamic functional manipulation.

We will explore OMNIUM’s core single-cell capabilities and their transformative downstream applications:

  • Non-Destructive Extraction (RNA and Proteins): Traditional single-cell analysis destroys the cell, offering only a static snapshot of its state. By aspirating femtoliter volumes from living cells, FluidFM technology enables true "Same-Cell Biology," turning that snapshot into a movie. Researchers can perform Live-seq (temporal transcriptomics) to profile RNA changes over time within the exact same cell, or extract proteins for longitudinal studies of cellular states—all while preserving cell viability.

  • Targeted Injection: The platform facilitates the direct delivery of CRISPR-Cas RNPs, plasmids, and proteins into the cytoplasm or nucleus of hard-to-transfect cells. This high-efficiency injection accelerates complex cell line development, disease modeling, and advanced genetic engineering.

  • Single-Cell Isolation: OMNIUM can gently pick and isolate phenotypically or spatially distinct rare cells directly from complex cultures, seamlessly integrating with downstream spatial and multi-omic workflows.
