Intro to Mahjong (Free)

​Spend your Sunday afternoon unplugged with good music and great company. Join us at Last Place on Earth for an open-house style community Mahjong day.

​Whether you’ve always wanted to learn how to play but felt intimidated by the rules, or you’re a seasoned player looking for a local table and a steady crew in Wicker Park, this event is for you.

​We will have dedicated learning tables set up with simplified "cheat sheets" and friendly guides to walk absolute beginners through the basics of tile recognition, suit pairing, and game flow. If you already know how to play, just grab a seat, mix the tiles, and start a game.

• ​Beginner Friendly: Zero experience required. We’ll break down the game so you feel confident playing by the end of your first round.

• ​Open Format: This is a casual community afternoon. Show up grab a snack or drink, watch a game, or jump right into a table.

• ​All Supplies Provided: We’ve got the tables, tiles, and guides ready to go.

​Entry is completely free, but RSVP is highly encouraged so we can ensure we have enough tables and tiles set up for everyone to get a chance to play!
