About Event

Join us for a powerful conversation with Ibtihal Aboussad - a Moroccan-born Harvard graduate and former Microsoft AI engineer turned whistleblower and ethical tech advocate.

After three and a half years at Microsoft, Ibtihal bravely disrupted their 50th anniversary event to expose how AI technologies were being deployed in ways that target Palestinian civilians.

Fired for her stand, she now leads the No Azure for Apartheid campaign along with engineering and strategic initiatives at Yaqeen Institute.

In this webinar, we’ll explore:

  • The moral dilemmas of working in tech industries linked directly or indirectly to injustice.

  • Navigating career pressures in competitive, high-stakes environments with ethical conviction.

  • The potential and limits of internal advocacy within corporations versus the power of collective, community-driven action.

  • Building ethical, Muslim-led alternatives in tech which are grounded in values, transparency, and innovation.

  • The emotional and spiritual weight of moral injury, and leaning on faith, tawakkul (trust in Allah), and community for strength.

While these may be abstract debates for some, for Palestinians, they are lived horrors. May Allah ease their suffering, grant victory to the oppressed and may our livelihoods reflect real courage and compassion in the face of injustice. Ameen.
