Techletes London: From Workout to Workshop
Workout at 12. Workshop at 2. Your own personal AI assistant by 6.
In person, in Victoria, London. Two minutes from Victoria station. There is no remote option, so only apply if you can be in the room on Saturday 5 December.
We're entering the era of performant personal AI assistants. OpenAI's dots, Meta's Muse and xAI's Grok Bot all launched in the last few months, and they all have one thing in common: someone else built them. Techletes is one afternoon where 40 engineers build their own, block by block, and leave with a repo they own.
It starts in the gym. Techletes are tech people who train like athletes, so we lift together at a private gym in Victoria at midday, shower, eat, then head upstairs and build until six.
Who it's for
Developers and engineers who build with LLMs and want to train like athletes: show up, put the work in, ship. The strength session is coached and open to every level, from first time under a bar to serious lifter, and it's optional if you'd rather just build. 40 seats, free, application only.
The day
12:00 Workout: a coached strength session, all levels (20 places, pick the Workout + Workshop ticket)
13:00 Showers, lunch, meet the room
13:45 Workshop-only ticket holders arrive
14:00 Build: Memory, then Interface, then Web
16:00 Break
16:10 Build: Voice, then Observability
17:20 Show and tell
18:00 Close
What you build
A performant personal assistant: one that remembers you, lives in your workspace, reads the live web, talks back, and reports its own errors. Every block is a real product, wired in by you, taught by Richmond.
Bring
A laptop with Python 3.11+ and Git, fully charged (power in the room is limited). Gym kit if you're training; towels are provided. Everything else is in the starter repo.
Where
Victoria, London, two minutes from the station. The exact address goes to approved applicants.
Your host
Richmond Alake has led AI developer experience at companies such as Oracle and MongoDB, teaches with DeepLearning.AI, O'Reilly and Maven, and coined the term Memory Engineering for AI and agent workloads.
Sponsors
Announced soon. The products you'll build with are the sponsors' products, and you can opt in to hear from them on the form.
Applications close Monday 30 November. We approve on a rolling basis, so apply early.
