Beyond Cameras : An Informal Silicon Valley Discussion On Sensing The Physical World

​About the event

​This is an informal gathering in Silicon Valley around sensing the physical world, bringing together people from RF , detectors ,AI , signal processing , antennas and hardware .

​How much spatial, directional, frequency, and temporal information can be recovered from electromagnetic sensor measurements, and whether that information can be computationally transformed into an image-like representation?

​The goal is to discuss what information can actually be recovered from physical measurements and what experiments could test these ideas .

​The discussion will take place at Stanford University on 9/23/26 from 2.00 -3.00 pm .

​About the organizers

​Wendy Frezah is the founder of Spairally, where we build compact AI-based sensing systems for public safety. Our current work uses acoustic sensing, but I am exploring whether electromagnetic sensing could provide useful spatial information about the physical environment without microphones and cameras .

​Halkano Boru is a student researcher at the Hoover History Lab Hoover Institution and a Master's in International Policy candidate at Stanford, specializing in International Security. His research examines how emerging technologies, particularly artificial intelligence, are reshaping political violence, geopolitics, democratic institutions and global governance .
