TNT x BAL: Can I Start a Company on My Visa?
This is a virtual session on Google Meet.
Building a startup in the US as a foreign national comes with a maze of immigration questions most founders don't find until they're already stuck. This session is a plain walkthrough of what actually lets you start and run your own company.
Melissa Harms and Maura Travers from BAL, a business immigration firm, will cover what F-1 and OPT founders can and can't do while still enrolled, H-1B self-sponsorship, the E-2 and O-1 routes, and the green card paths founders turn to once the company gains traction (EB-2 NIW and EB-1A). They'll also cover how to structure a company and a cofounder team without creating an immigration problem, how a pre-seed raise or going full-time changes the picture, and recent government updates that affect founders.
Built around the questions we hear most from student and recent-grad founders at MIT and Harvard. Bring yours; there's time for Q&A.
By registering you'll be added to the TNT newsletter.
