β€‹πŸŽ‰ Our First In-Person Session

We’re excited to kick off our Machine Learning (ML)/AI Lecture Series, led by Martin He! πŸš€ Join us for an introductory session where we’ll explore the world of Machine Learning, Artificial Intelligence, and Software Development, while getting hands-on with the tools and skills needed to start building your own projects.

Whether you come from STEM, Medicine, Business, Finance, Linguistics, or even something you wouldn't think of being directly applicable such as Law or the Humanities, this is the perfect place to be introduced to ML in a variety of contexts!

β€‹πŸ“š What to Expect:

  • β€‹πŸŽ“ Programme Overview: Learn about the programme, the certification you can earn through participation, and the completion of Capstone Project(s).

  • β€‹πŸ€ Industry Partnerships & Collaboration: Get introduced to our industry partner(s), our methodology of project-based learning, and opportunities to collaborate with the AI Collective.

  • β€‹πŸ§  The Evolution of AI & Machine Learning: Explore the history of ML, AI, and software development, and discover how these developments have shaped today's job market.

  • β€‹πŸ Python & Software Development: Get a quick introduction to Python, software development, and the essentials you need to get up and running.

  • β€‹πŸ’» Set Up Your Development Environment: Learn how to install VS Code and Git, create your GitHub account (or link it, if you are precocious), and join the City Optimise/AI Collective GitHub organisation, and social channels.

  • β€‹πŸ‘¨β€πŸ’» Your First Programme: Write and run your very first β€œHello, World!” programme.

  • β€‹πŸŒ Introduction to Web Development: Discover the fundamentals of web development and get an overview of the projects you'll complete throughout the series.

Whether you're completely new to coding or looking to build on your existing skills, or are even just there to meet like-minded individuals, this session is the perfect starting point for your ML journey.

πŸ”₯ Come ready to learn, collaborate, and start building!

We look forward to seeing you there!
