Offline Reading Party

​We've noticed people want to read books more, be social, and get out of the house. Make time and join Quiet Smile at Wildhearts Cafe for an Offline Reading Party, with an optional book swap.

​Leave your phone out of reach. Quiet reading time in a room with other people doing the same. Pick up that book you keep putting off.

​What to expect:

• ​Uninterrupted time to read the book you keep meaning to start or finish.

• ​A simple path into conversation, with no rush and no pressure.

• ​A cozy café atmosphere that makes it easier to slow down.

• ​Proper time offline, not just “less online.”

​Wildhearts Cafe is hosting us to support the mission. Please leave outside drinks and snacks at home and encourage guests to purchase something from the café.

​6:00 to 6:30 pm: Arrive and settle in
6:30 to 8:00 pm: Quiet reading time
8:00 to 8:30 pm: Optional connection time and book swap
8:30 pm: Wrap-up and goodbye

​Dive into any book. Bring your own book, poetry, essays, comics, steamy fan-fic, whatever holds your attention.

​Connect with others and swap books, if you want.

​After reading, you can talk with others if you feel like it. This is a low-stakes space where saying hello is normal again, and nobody needs a clever opening line.

​The book swap is optional. Bring a finished book that is gathering dust and give it a second life. You might go home with a new read and the quiet satisfaction of passing something along.
