Managing Sobriety as a Therapist During the Holidays: An MHM Therapist Community Gathering
The holiday season can be joyful and incredibly challenging. For many of us whose lives have been touched by addiction, it can bring a flood of triggers, complicated family dynamics, and social situations that test even our strongest grounding.
This gathering is a confidential, supportive space for anyone navigating recovery in any form — including sobriety from alcohol or drugs, recovery from food-related addictions, or living in relationship with someone struggling with addiction (such as those in Al-Anon or similar support communities). Whether you’re in long-term recovery, newly sober, or simply exploring your relationship with addiction and healing, you’re welcome here.
After opening reflections, we’ll move into smaller breakout rooms so participants can connect with others who share similar experiences. You’ll have the option to join the group that feels most comfortable for you — for example, those in recovery from alcohol, those in recovery from drugs, those exploring healing from food-related struggles, or those in relationship with loved ones affected by addiction.
In small groups, we’ll explore:
The unique pressures we face around the holidays while supporting clients and protecting our own recovery.
How to navigate triggers in professional and personal spaces.
What’s helping us stay grounded and aligned with our values this season.
And perhaps most importantly, we’ll remember we don’t have to walk this path alone.
This free workshop will be facilitated by MHM therapist Ann Dypiangco, LCSW.
