Future Film: Brett Stuart - Directing at the Edge of AI and Hollywood
Brett Stuart is a director and AI production architect working at the intersection of Hollywood's professional infrastructure and AI-native filmmaking methods. He is currently Head of AI Filmmaking at Staircase Studios AI, where he is building the production frameworks and creative pipelines behind the studio's feature film and television slate.
Brett directed Christmas at Godfrey's, a SAG-AFTRA approved short film featuring Fred Melamed (A Serious Man, Curb Your Enthusiasm), Ana Cruz Kayne (Barbie, Little Women), and Ben Lloyd-Hughes (Divergent, Industry), demonstrating how AI-driven visual production can operate inside Hollywood's union framework with professional cast, crew, and voice talent. He is currently directing The Woman with Red Hair, a feature-length project built on the same AI-native methodology.
In this session, Brett will screen scenes from his upcoming short film Witness and walk through what professional AI production actually looks like from the inside, the decisions, the tools, the workflows, and the thinking behind them.
Whether you're already working with these tools or just beginning to explore them, the conversation is designed to be practical and honest about what these tools can do, where their limitations are, and where it's all heading.
This is a rare opportunity to hear directly from someone building at the professional level right now.
