The Words We Carry: A Belonging Circle for Poems, Pauses, and Presence
Hosted by Kate in collaboration with Cascadia Stack
Join us for a quiet hour of reflection and resonance. This online Belonging Circle is a space to reflect on the power of language- how it connects us, grounds us, and helps us make meaning in uncertain times.
Bring a poem, prose piece, story excerpt, news article, social media post, or even a meme that resonates with you. Whether it’s something you’ve written or something that has moved you, we’ll make space for each voice and each silence.
We will not be writing during this session. Instead, we’ll reflect on the role of literacy, storytelling, and shared language in building community and personal resilience.
Belonging Circles offer a non-clinical, yet therapeutic space to process the emotional weight of living through the polycrisis, including eco-anxiety, uncertainty, and the quiet overwhelm of caring deeply.
✧ This is not a writing workshop. It is a gentle space for connection and reflection.
✧ This is not group therapy- it’s a safe, supportive space to slow down, speak honestly, and remember you’re not alone.
✧ You are welcome to share, listen, or simply be present.
✧ Feel free to bring tea, a notebook, or anything that helps you settle in.

Here’s a quick note about what to expect during our time together.
Belonging Circles are relaxed, supportive spaces where participants are invited to share their experiences, thoughts, and feelings about the climate crisis and the wider polycrisis. This is not a space for debate, education, or persuasion — just honest reflection and deep listening.
To help create a space where everyone feels safe to share, we ask that you avoid cross talk. That means no advice, feedback, or responses to what others have shared. Silence between speakers is welcome and gives us time to reflect.
It’s natural to want to offer comfort, ideas, or stories of your own. In this space, we practice holding those impulses and simply listening.
