Furniture Repair Bank Tour & Volunteer Experience
Join Furniture Repair Bank for a hands‑on Climate Week experience that brings sustainability, community and repair culture together. This event begins with a presentation introducing FRB’s mission, the environmental impact of furniture waste, and how repair can strengthen both climate resilience and community stability. Attendees will then take a guided tour of the FRB workshop, where you’ll see where the magic happens and have the chance to ask questions about our model, our impact, and the families we serve.
After the tour, participants will roll up their sleeves for approximately two hours of volunteer time. Under the guidance of FRB staff, you’ll learn basic furniture restoration skills such as sanding, painting, beginner upholstery, and more. Every piece you work on will go directly to a community member who is rebuilding their life. This experience offers a meaningful way to take climate action through repair while supporting neighbors across King County.
