SHADOW and LIGHT: DARKROOM EDITION Opening Reception
We invite you to the opening reception of SHADOW and LIGHT: DARKROOM EDITION.
This group exhibition celebrates the enduring power of black-and-white analogue photography, showcasing the results of a specialized portrait workshop hosted by the Hart House Camera Club at the University of Toronto.
Featuring works by Fernando Luna, Hadi Amtaeleq, Karina Feng, Samuel Lui, and Sanjana Iyer. Curated by Michael Chambers.
While the participants shared the same physical environment, utilizing the same models, props, and lighting, the resulting images reveal the profound subjectivity of the creative eye… perception becomes reality.
Central to this exhibition is the technical artistry of the wet darkroom. Each frame serves as a moment punctuated in time, where the tactile manipulation of light and shadow is used to deliver the photographer’s specific vision and emotional voice.
Special thanks to Graination for generously hosting the exhibition and opening reception.
We are looking for partners to provide refreshments for the reception — if you'd like to collaborate, we'd love to connect and would greatly appreciate your support.
