About the Event
It gives us great pleasure to introduce the next speaker in our Performance Practice Development series, "Bridging Cultures Through Music" — the acclaimed Iranian-born composer and tar virtuoso, Hamed Sadeghi. This session continues our exploration of intercultural dialogue, using music as a bridge to foster mutual understanding and meaningful collaboration between diverse musical traditions.
Persian classical music is a tradition of profound depth and emotional resonance. In this lecture-recital, Hamed will delve into:
Aesthetics & Rhythm: How Persian traditions shape phrasing, ornamentation, and unique time feels.
Instrumental Techniques: Exploring the haunting tonal qualities of the tar and its integration into contemporary and improvisational settings.
Reflective Performance: Navigating the balance between cultural authenticity and artistic innovation in a globalized musical landscape.
