About Event

This screening and dialogue invites mediamakers to rethink how to integrate people in their process. We will kick-off with Puerto Rican music, present ways to engage communities in documentary filmmaking and play a game that will inspire healthier practices for storytelling.

Facilitated by Frances Medina and Camille Padilla Dalmau of 9 Millones, an independent news network that amplifies the stories of Puerto Rican communities.

In partnership with the Philadelphia Latino Arts and Film Festival (PHLAFF) #PHLAFF2026

9 Millones is an independent news platform and creative network built to shift power from corporate interests back to our communities. As a collective of journalists, educators, and cultural workers, we go beyond reporting on daily news by co-creating data-driven stories that dig into the root causes of the problems that Puerto Rico faces today.
