About Event

What tools do we actually need to make AI governance enforceable? Evaluations, auditing methods, compute monitoring, verification — this is the work of technical AI governance, and a lot of it is still unsolved.

Jaime Raldúa Veuthey, CEO of Apart Research, is running an introductory workshop on the field. Apart is a remote AI safety organisation that runs research fellowships and hackathon-style research sprints, does its own research on evaluations — currently focused on manipulation evals — and works with the EU AI Office on the evals that will be used to enforce the EU AI Act.

The workshop starts with an introduction to the field, then moves into discussing and working on its open problems — the same agenda Apart is co-authoring a paper on, with a fellowship afterwards aimed at turning those open problems into actual solutions. The final part focuses on technical AI governance in the EU.

No prior background needed — this is an introductory session, open to anyone curious about the field. Make sure to bring your laptops!
