About The Speaker
Mauro Ramírez Azofeifa is the founder of GreenTico. Born and raised in Palmichal, a rural community in San José, he grew up immersed in rural tourism, developing a deep understanding of community-driven travel, sustainability, and economic empowerment.
With a Bachelor’s in Human Ecology from the College of the Atlantic and a Master’s in Entrepreneurial Leadership from Babson College, Mauro specialises in building strategic partnerships, designing impactful travel programs, and driving responsible tourism initiatives. He has collaborated with universities, conservation groups, and local businesses, ensuring tourism benefits both travelers and host communities.
Mauro is also a World Economic Forum Global Shaper from Global Shapers Boston Hub.
