Reimagining Impact: A Roundtable on Harnessing Talent for Collective Action

Across the DC-Maryland-Virginia region, thousands of highly skilled professionals, many of whom have delivered critical services to the American public and the global community, are now navigating an uncertain future. At the same time, climate change challenges continue to mount, while climate adaptation solutions are often put off.

In response, a bold idea is taking shape: the creation of a coalition that unites diverse, mission-aligned organizations to harness this extraordinary talent pool. This coalition would cultivate a vibrant, interconnected community of innovators, founders, subject matter experts, funders, and both public and private sector partners, all driven by a shared commitment to service. At its core, the coalition will be guided by values such as civic responsibility, innovation, transparency, accountability, equity, compassion, creativity, and curiosity. This event is your chance to influence what gets developed.

As part of DC Climate Week, we’re hosting a facilitated roundtable discussion for those eager to learn more and explore how they might contribute to this emerging initiative. The coalition will be designed to support changemakers and accelerate access to resources across a range of industries, including climate, sustainability, technology, and public service.

We invite you to join this conversation if:

  • You want to help build something or support something new

  • You believe in the power of community to drive action

  • You have experience building complex organizations

This will be a 90 minute roundtable discussion with opportunities to network before and after. No spectators here, the session will begin with a 30-minute facilitated roundtable discussion to introduce the vision and initial ideas for the coalition. After that, the space will open up for participants to ask questions, share feedback, offer insights, and express interest in shaping what this effort could become. This is an open invitation to co-create—your perspectives and ideas are not just welcome, they’re essential.
