About Event

Get ready for a powerful day of advocacy and action at the Coronado Community Center! We’re pivoting the conversation to the front lines of the coast, starting with a provocative piece of performance art: a ceremonial “Paddle Out” in Hazmat suits. This visual tribute links back to last year’s urgent call to action, highlighting the toxic reality of our shared waters.

The day will feature an unprecedented Transboundary Leadership Panel, bringing together federal, state, local, Mexican, and Tribal representatives to discuss the infrastructure and environmental justice challenges of the Tijuana River crisis.

  • 4-5pm Paddle Out: A stark opening ceremony at the shoreline to honor the water sport culture and protest the pollution that keeps us out of the water. (Please register for the paddle out on the paddle out event page!)

  • 5-6pm Non-Profit “Make Waves” Fair: Connect & take action with organizations on the ground, including those focused on public health, binational advocacy, and coastal preservation.

  • 6-7pm Bi-National & Tribal Leadership Panel: A heavy-hitting discussion featuring leaders from both sides of the border and Tribal nations.

  • 7-7:30pm Action-Oriented Breakout Sessions: Move from talk to transformation. Join small working groups led by our panelists to dive into specific solutions, from infrastructure policy to community restoration and leave with a direct Call to Action.
