Babcock International Group's 'Train to Fit' Programme
Babcock is a FTSE 100 defence company whose aim is to create a safe and secure world.
Their 'Train to Fit' program is a training initiative designed to hire candidates based on their potential and develop them into roles, rather than requiring specific pre-existing skills.
It focuses on soft skills like potential and a "growth mindset" and accelerates the development of motivated individuals into high-demand roles like project controls or estimating.
The program involves classroom learning and on-the-job training, often with the goal of achieving professional qualifications.
HR Director, Coral Smith, will talk to members about:
Who are Babcock International?
What are the programmes they use to recruit people who are career changers?
What are the roles and how can people can progress within Babcock?
How many people are they looking to recruit this year and when are the recruitment rounds taking place?
What is the salary range?
What are the skills people need to have to do well on these programmes?
What sort of person gets hired?
What does the application process look like?
