TechBio: Where Food Meets Health
What connects more resilient crops with the next generation of medicines?
From AI models that read plant genomes to synthetic biology that unlocks microbial chemistry, food and health share a growing technological toolkit.
But how far can the same science travel across these markets, and where do the paths diverge?
Join 2050 × Foodlabs during BioWeek Paris for a conversation with two founders exploring this frontier:
Cyril Véran - Co-founder & CEO, Living Models
Cyril leads Living Models, which develops AI foundation models for biology. Its BOTANIC models focus on plant genomes, helping researchers interpret DNA and accelerate agricultural discovery.Vincent Libis - Co-founder & CSO, Generare
A synthetic biologist, Vincent develops technologies to uncover molecules encoded in microbial genomes. At Generare, he helps turn this unexplored chemistry into new opportunities for drug discovery, with potential applications in crop protection.
Together, we’ll explore what transfers between food and health: biological data, discovery tools, experimental approaches, and what changes when a platform becomes a product.

About the partners
Nebius is the AI infrastructure platform backed by NVIDIA, purpose-built for teams training, fine-tuning, and deploying at scale.
Albert School combines business, data and AI education. Its Paris campus welcomes us for this evening of discussion and connections.
About the organisers
2050 is a European investment platform shaping a fertile future. It combines systemic research, cutting edge science and frontier AI to address humanity’s most pressing challenges across food, health, education, nature and societal resilience.
FoodLabs is an early-stage VC fund and venture studio based in Berlin and rooted in Europe, with a growing international presence. FoodLabs partners with founders to help turn scientific breakthroughs into industrially viable companies that contribute to a more resilient, secure and healthy food system.
TTY is a community of AI researchers, builders and deployers, connecting people across cities through conversations, shared knowledge and events.
About the companies
Living Models builds AI foundation models to understand living systems, starting with plants. Its BOTANIC models read plant DNA to help researchers connect genetic variation with biological traits, prioritise experiments and accelerate agricultural innovation.

Generare unlocks the unexplored chemistry encoded in microbial genomes. Combining synthetic biology and genome mining at scale, it turns microbial genetic instructions into molecules that can be produced and screened for drug discovery.
Explore the science: Vincent Libis and colleagues’ Multiplexed mobilization and expression of biosynthetic gene clusters, published in Nature Communications in 2022, demonstrates how parallel discovery and expression of microbial gene clusters can uncover new bioactive molecules.
