About Event

Join Triple A Foundation for an evening of film, reflection and meaningful conversation as we screen In Her Shoes, an award-winning Nigerian short film that explores autism through the eyes of a young girl navigating family, school and community.

About the Film

In Her Shoes (2025) tells the story of Halima, a 12-year-old girl with autism living in the rural, low-income Hausa community of Idi-Araba, Lagos. As she struggles to fit into her environment amid misunderstanding, stigma and bullying, her remarkable talent for mathematics reveals a different perspective on ability, inclusion and human potential.

Directed by Ella Chikezie and produced by Precious Iroagalachi, the 18-minute film offers a powerful lens into the lived realities of autistic children and their families in Nigeria.

Following the screening, participants will engage in a moderated conversation with experts and stakeholders on autism awareness, early identification, inclusion and the collective role we all play in creating supportive communities for autistic children and their caregivers.

Whether you are a parent, caregiver, healthcare professional, educator, policymaker, development partner, student or advocate, this event offers an opportunity to learn, connect and contribute to a more inclusive future.
