In Her Shoes: Movie Screening and Stakeholder Conversation on Autism

​Join Triple A Foundation for an evening of film, reflection and meaningful conversation as we screen In Her Shoes, an award-winning Nigerian short film that explores autism through the eyes of a young girl navigating family, school and community.

​About the Film

​In Her Shoes (2025) tells the story of Halima, a 12-year-old girl with autism living in the rural, low-income Hausa community of Idi-Araba, Lagos. As she struggles to fit into her environment amid misunderstanding, stigma and bullying, her remarkable talent for mathematics reveals a different perspective on ability, inclusion and human potential.

​Directed by Ella Chikezie and produced by Precious Iroagalachi, the 18-minute film offers a powerful lens into the lived realities of autistic children and their families in Nigeria.

​Following the screening, participants will engage in a moderated conversation with experts and stakeholders on autism awareness, early identification, inclusion and the collective role we all play in creating supportive communities for autistic children and their caregivers.
