About the speaker
Amitabh Shrivastava is the Managing Partner at July Ventures LLP. He has over 3 decades of experience as a Venture Capitalist, angel investor, serial entrepreneur, and senior executive with MNCs. Amitabh is the ex-Managing Partner at the IAN Fund and a member of the Indian Angel Network (between 2008 and 2020). He has been an independent angel investor, a member of the IAN, and invested in start-ups across varied sectors. He has also been an Entrepreneur-in-Residence on behalf of VCs and angels in their portfolio companies. He has a track record for identifying the right team, and the right time to invest and exit in start-ups. He has participated in several deal cycles from investments to exits, with multiple returns and is well networked in the entrepreneurial eco-system on, both, the sell and the buy-side. He Co-founded 4 entrepreneurial ventures including 3 successful exits and raised investments from institutional investors, HNIs, and self. He is actively involved with R&D and academic institutions to commercialize deep science & technology IP, is a Member of the Technical Advisory Committee of the National Research Development Corporation (NRDC, India), and led a major nation-building initiative (2012 to 2017) in the form of a private limited company to commercialize IP from Indian R&D institutions through technology transfer/licensing and through a Lab-to-Market venture fund, called Indian Science Venture Fund - a first of its kind in India. Raised private money to set up and run a centralized tech transfer company called CSIR-Tech Pvt Ltd. He has been a senior executive with large MNCs – "Intra-preneurially" built greenfield businesses, in several new geographies, new product lines, etc.
