About Event
Due to climate change, The Atlantic Meridional Overturning Circulation (AMOC) is weakening and may even collapse. This will have far-reaching impacts on societies and ecosystems around the world. However, the precise magnitude and timing of these impacts remain uncertain, making improving our understanding of the AMOC an international priority.
This event, hosted by the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure & Water Management in collaboration with ecosystem partners, will highlight three priorities for action: strengthening long-term ocean monitoring, advancing research and modelling to better understand and anticipate AMOC changes, and enhance international cooperation in the research of the AMOC.
