The Lost Body: Hyper-Stimulated & Spiritually Tired
The intention of this evening is to reinvigorate your reverence and respect for the sensationally ordinary practice of paying attention.
I will be honest. I am invested in this one.
Because I know how many people have tried meditation and found it difficult, frustrating, not quite for them. Or have practised for years and still feel like something essential is just out of reach.
What Kurt and I want to offer is not a new technique or a better method. It is something closer to a reminder. That underneath the scrolling, the noise, and the sheer volume of options available to us, there is something simple, foundational, and genuinely available. Your own presence. The capacity to pause and find your way back inside yourself.
We have called this evening The Lost Body. Because two things have been lost in the modern translation of this practice. The body of wisdom that once held it. And our literal body, the felt, physical, experiencing one, which in many traditions was either the whole practice or the doorway into it.
We are hyperstimulated and spiritually tired. And we think that says something about us. It does not. It says something about the conditions.
This evening is a few hours of experience, movement, dialogue and inquiry. Come ready to remember something you already know.
