PARK(ing) DAY Design Workshop

​The number of parks throughout Philadelphia increases dramatically each year on the third Friday in September, when activists, artists, architects, and other citizens transform metered parking spaces into temporary public parks. Known as PARK(ing) DAY, this annual event re-imagines the possibilities of 140 square feet of public space. The event celebrates parks and other public spaces in cities across the country, and raises awareness of the need for more pedestrian-friendly spaces in our urban areas.

​This time is available for all of this year's teams and curious designers seeking coaching to help design and develop their own parklets for Friday, September 18, 2026. We will use the design template provided on the PARK(ing) DAY Philadelphia websie.

​LOCATION DESCRIPTION

​Accessibility:

• ​There is a zero-step entrance into the space, with another entrance available if the glass garage doors are down.

• ​The driveway ramps up to our space.

• ​One accessible bathroom is available on our floor.

• ​Please reach out with other specific accessibility questions or requests and we will do our best to accommodate your needs.
