Second Saturdays II :: Sub-Bass Social
Sub-Bass Social marks the second edition of Reforesters Laboratory’s new monthly gathering series. This time our performers will infuse sub-bass centered sounds to "upregulate" your Saturday evening.
Aside from the 24 D&B Audiotechnik speakers, we have two sub-woofers by the same company; both of which would be impressive in much larger spaces than the Reforesters Laboratory Sound Clinic. But the SL Sub, standing at 5 feet high on the floor is especially powerful - configured in "infra-mode" to allow it to dip down to 30hz.
Have you felt 30hz on your body in a comfortable, beautiful space while chilling? While dancing? We suggest you do!
Logistics:
This social is an open door experience — stay for all or as little of the evening as you wish. Be a wanderer. We believe you will want to stay, though, FYI.
As you know, we are alcohol-free for max fun.
The sound clinic is shoes off and phones away for max comfort.
Cafe is open for social activity. We will try to keep the sound clinic for listening and dancing.
PERFORMANCES:
6:30pm - 7:30pm - Paramax performs an ambient listening experience that fully explores the full depths of the sub-bass of our system.
Paramax is an NY based experimental artist, producer, and sound engineer whose noise-forward practice explores the collision of structure and spontaneity. Rooted in durational listening practices learned from years of mixing raves, their work dissolves traditional song forms—drawing from sub sonic frequencies, ambient music, and speaker design to build immersive auditory worlds.
7:30-10:00pm - concon plays a dance set designed to melt your senses and make you move. Expect lush textures, playful rhythms and warm, bass-forward selections, opening a spacious container for stretching, wiggling, and soft connection.
concon is a DJ and event organizer interested in adding gentleness and variety to the spectrum of nightlife. Their events invite deep listening and somatic play, centering immersive sound in intimate environments.

Pro tip:
Come hungry to ground yourself with adaptogenic offerings from the café, preparing mind and body for a fuller and deeper shared experience.
Reforesters Laboratory is an experimental adaptogen cafe and sound clinic located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. We utilize music – including spatial, sub-bass-centered, and organic instrumentation – along with breathwork, meditation, art, plant care and adaptogenic, nutritional foods + beverages to cultivate kindness—both physical and spiritual. We aim to create an environment that offers peace, space, and clarity, helping people understand the connections between themselves, their communities, and the world around them. To that end, we offer affordable "pay what you can" ticket options on all events and classes.
