Reclaiming Joy: An Evening with Dr. Judith Joseph
The Columbia Business School African American Alumni Association (4A) and Columbia Business School have partnered to invite alumni and select students to an intimate conversation with Dr. Judith Joseph, a board-certified psychiatrist, researcher, and New York Times bestselling author of High Functioning: Overcome Your Hidden Depression and Reclaim Your Joy, the first book to define High-Functioning Depression (HFD). She holds both an MD and an MBA from Columbia, which makes this a homecoming as much as an author talk.
The evening begins with welcome drinks, giving alumni and students an opportunity to connect before the program begins. Dr. Joseph will then join 4A Chair Rona (Matthew) Edomwonyi ’20 for a fireside chat on High-Functioning Depression: what it is, why it often goes unnoticed among high achievers, and how it can show up in today’s workplace.
The program concludes with a networking reception, giving guests the opportunity to continue the conversation and build connections. Throughout the evening, guests will gain practical tools for navigating uncertainty, protecting their well-being, and reclaiming joy, whether they are navigating a career transition, managing a demanding role, or simply carrying the pressure of appearing fine.
Your ticket includes admission to event, a copy of the book High Functioning: Overcome Your Hidden Depression and Reclaim Your Joy, and networking reception with drinks and hors d’oeuvres.
