About Event

TAP - The Armenia Project is hosting Erin Mahoney in Yerevan on June 9th for a practical, small-group workshop on how Armenian tech companies and startups can position their stories for international media coverage. Erin is Director of Client Services at a US-based global communications firm that works with business and public affairs clients to shape public conversation through storytelling, thought leadership, and media.

If you are a tech founder handling your own communications, or a PR and media professional working with Armenian tech companies, or someone who has tried pitching an Armenia story to international media and wondered why it didn’t land, this workshop is for you.

Erin has placed stories in global outlets from the Washington Post and the Wall Street Journal to Bloomberg and CNBC, and has built PR strategies for tech companies for years. In this session, she will share what she has learned firsthand - how international media thinks, what makes editors say yes, and the small but critical differences between a pitch that gets picked up and one that doesn't.

This is a working session built around one goal: helping you get better at telling Armenia's tech stories to the world. No prior PR experience needed – we’ll start from the basics and build up from there.

What you'll walk away with:

  • What PR actually is, how it works, and what to realistically expect from PR efforts

  • How a story goes from idea to published piece or broadcast item: pitch letters, press releases, and press trips explained

  • What international editors look for and what makes a startup story worth covering

  • The most common mistakes that push journalists away and how to fix them

  • Practical frameworks for pitching Armenian tech stories to global media

  • How to make journalists care about your story

Space is limited. Registration is required. Reserve your spot by June 5.
