From Storytelling to Audience-Building: A Live Podcast Taping
Have you ever wondered what it's like to start your own podcast? What it takes to grow an audience? How to stay true to your authentic self over the mic?
The Asian American Journalists Association NY Chapter and the South Asian Journalists Association, in partnership with The Asian American Foundation, are excited to invite you to a live podcast taping on Thursday, Oct. 1.
Jaeki Cho, the founder of Righteous Eats, will be the moderator, and he'll be joined by panelists Cathy Erway, the co-host of "Shut Up 'N Eat" podcast, Nayeema Raza, the host of "Smart Girl Dumb Questions" podcast, and Asthaa Chaturvedi, a senior producer of The New York Times "The Daily" podcast.
Each member of the panel has unique experience in navigating the quickly changing podcasting industry and what it takes to promote and grow a podcast. Audience members will get the chance to hear about their journalism experiences and what it means to be of an AAPI background in the podcast industry.
The entire event will be held on a soundstage and taped live! There will be time for questions at the end of the hour-long panel, as well as a chance to socialize and mingle at the mixer after the panel. Food will be served.

About Registration
Guests who have an active membership with either AAJA or SAJA can purchase a discounted rate of $5. If you are not already a member, you can sign up with AAJA here and SAJA here. All others must pay $15. Memberships will be checked.
By registering for this event, all guests agree to be photographed and videotaped. If you don't want your photos to be taken, please let the event host know upon entering the site.
