Cursor Hackathon Riyadh
Build & Ship a Game in 4 Hours
Overview
A 4-hour gaming hackathon where 60 participants build games, NPC algorithms, game add-ons, and gaming tools using Cursor Composer 2 as their AI pair programmer. Five tracks covering game engines (Steam-ready), browser games, mobile games, NPC/AI behavior, and web platforms for gamers.
What We Will Do?
Brotato was built by one person in Godot — it made $10 million. Buckshot Roulette? One dev, $7 million. The tools have changed. With AI-powered coding, a single builder can ship what used to take a studio.
This is not a talk. This is not a tutorial. This is a hackathon.
You get 3.5 hours to build something real — a playable game, a smart NPC, a mod, a tool — using Cursor Composer 2as your AI pair programmer. At the end, you demo what you built. No slides. No pitch decks. Just working software.
*Attendees will get $50 credit from Cursor
Choose Your Track
🎮 Track 1: Game Engine → Steam Build a full game in Godot or Unity with Cursor + MCP integration. Export a standalone build. The kind of thing you could put on Steam.
🌐 Track 2: Browser Games Build a web-playable game using Three.js, Phaser.js, or HTML5 Canvas. Deploy it live. Share the URL. Let people play it on their phones during your demo.
📱 Track 3: Mobile Games Build a mobile game using Flutter + Flame or React Native + Expo. Run it on a real device. Show the crowd.
🤖 Track 4: NPC Algorithms & Game Add-ons Build intelligent NPC behavior, game AI, mods, or tools for existing games. Pathfinding, LLM-powered dialogue, Roblox experiences, Minecraft datapacks — whatever pushes game AI forward.
🖥️ Track 5: Websites for Gamers Build a web tool or platform for the gaming community — tournament brackets, stats dashboards, team finders, streaming tools, esports hubs.
Time Format
6:00PM - 6:15PM: Intro — What's possible with Cursor + game dev. Live demo of games built with AI. Track overview.

9:45PM - 10:00: Show & Tell — 2-minute demos. Show the crowd what you built. No prizes, no judges — just respect.

Gamers who've always wanted to build something but never had the right tools
AI enthusiasts who want to push Cursor to its limits
Anyone in the Saudi gaming ecosystem — from indie devs to esports organizers
All skill levels welcome. If you can describe what you want to build, Cursor can help you build it.
Saudi Arabia has 23.5 million gamers. The National Gaming Strategy aims to build 250+ gaming companies by 2030. This hackathon is where that starts — one builder, one evening, one game at a time.
