Escaping Flatland Meetup - Seattle #2
Thank you to everyone who joined for our first event last month! It was quite the turnout, probably over thirty people and I hope I can speak for everyone in saying conversation was great :) You all brought such interesting perspectives and I've been looking forward to picking back up some of those trains of thought.
We'll meet again in the same spot at Volunteer Park on Saturday, August 22nd, weather permitting.
A note on deciding to show up: I'll be the first to admit that I was a bit nervous setting something like this up and not knowing who, if anyone, would come out. Other attendees shared they were uncertain too, wavering before they finally decided to commit. So if you didn't make it out last time or are a first timer still on the fence — this is your sign to be brave and put yourself out there! We want to meet you and hear what you have to say :)
A few people expressed interest in writing at our last meet-up, so this session will be center around two of Henrik's essays:
Looking for Alice and Everything that turned out well in my life followed the same design process
The idea is to respond to a couple of prompts drawn from these pieces, write a short paragraph, then share and discuss as a group.
Feel free to bring a notebook and something to write with. We will also have some extras!

Details from the previous meetup:
Curious to meet other Escaping Flatland readers near you?
Come meet, talk, and spend a relaxed afternoon together :)
We’ll meet July 11 at 1pm in Volunteer Park which is close to I-5 and accessible by public transit. There is an old tree between 15th Ave and the back of the Asian Art Museum which has a large, low-hanging limb. See you there!
Feel free to bring drinks, snacks, or a blanket to sit on. Children are welcome.
If it rains, we’ll decide what to do depending on how many we are and email you with an update.
