About Event

Join us for a 75-minute workshop demonstrating how AI coding assistant Claude Code can help anyone build real web applications—no prior coding experience necessary, although some familiarity is very helpful. We’ll create an interactive calculator using the Rewiring America API that helps homeowners visualize the benefits of home electrification.Starting with a simple demo, we’ll build an application where users can select upgrades (mini-split heat pumps, electric water heaters, etc.) and immediately see: - Annual cost savings estimates - Indoor air quality improvements - Carbon footprint reductions - County-level health impact mapsYou’ll witness the complete development journey: setting up Claude Code → building features through conversation with AI → making git commits → deploying to the web → live application ready to share. Perfect for climate advocates, policy professionals, contractors, educators, and anyone curious about modern development tools for climate solutions.
